Terms of Service
Last updated 14 August 2026.
The short version
Kodo is free to use today. Don't use it to harm people, and understand that it is provided as-is. That's most of it; the details follow.
The service
Kodo generates QR codes. Static codes are created entirely in your browser. Dynamic codes redirect through our servers so you can edit their destination and see scan analytics. Creating dynamic codes requires an account.
Acceptable use
You may not use Kodo to link to or distribute:
- malware, phishing pages, or anything designed to deceive or defraud the person scanning;
- content that is illegal where you or we operate;
- spam at a scale that degrades the service for others.
We may disable individual codes, or accounts, that violate this — including the redirects of codes already printed. This is the one case in which a printed code stops working, and we would rather never use it.
Your codes and your data
Your codes and their settings are yours. You can edit or delete them, and export your data, at any time from the dashboard. What we store and how we handle it is in the privacy policy.
No warranty
Kodo is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. We work to keep redirects fast and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for losses arising from downtime, errors, or a code that fails to redirect. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us — currently nothing, as the service is free.
Changes
We may change these terms; if we do so materially, we will update the date above. If we ever introduce paid plans, those will come with their own clearly stated terms before you are charged anything.
